Group Chef - Pastry - Head Office - Vacancy ID - 8729
You should be a culinary specialist with a proven track record in hospitality pastry management position with a minimum of 10 years experience at management level in a 5 star environment preferably with foreign exposure. Should have an educational degree or diploma in bakery/pastry/confiseur arts. You will be reporting to the Head of Food & Beverage operations and leading a team of over 100 associates.
Requirements
  • Ensuring each resort's pastry departments highest standards are achieved and maintained in accordance with company specifications.
  • A thorough knowledge of all new pastry food trends worldwide Exposure in pastry/bakery food preparation and preservation techniques.
  • Sound knowledge in stock control.
  • Monitor the performance and consumption of the pastry area, setting up of production schedules, job assignments, manage food costs and guest satisfaction.
  • Exposure in creating production manuals, plate presentations, recipes and menu planning.
    Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, provide direction, manage multiple tasks and prioritize among assignments.
  • Expected to mentor the team and impart technical skills and experience.
  • Be a hands on team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
